Okpebholo's threat to Peter Obi has not only ridiculed Edo State in the public eye, it also compounds investor confidence in the security of the State—no serious investor will put his monies in a community where the governor himself constitutes a major security threat to members of the public.
The unprovoked threat to Peter Obi, which Okpebholo termed "direct message", is nothing but reckless, undemocratic, embarrassing, disingenuous and a call to anarchy—which not only serves as security threat to Peter Obi, but threatens the entire populace, particularly VIPs who may have seen Edo as an investment destination of choice.
It is such an embarrassment, and Edo will have to suffer the setback occasioned by the recklessness and insensitivity of Okpebholo for the next four years—Edo has never been this embarrassed.
Which investor wants to settle in Edo where a sitting governor conveniently dishes out threat to individuals?
No investor will consider Edo, where the State government has become a burden to itself—clueless, visionless, directionless, with nothing attractive, spectacular coming out from the government quarters to drive investment—local or foreign.
Today, Peter Obi remains a mirroring example of the quality of leader Nigerians are yearning for; with insurmountable hardship and absence of productive policy occasioned by the ruling Party's misrule, Nigerians now see hope and future in Peter Obi—a former governor who invested significantly in education, health and saved billions for Anambra.
Other than nonsense politicking and gallivanting from place to place, what meaningful thing has Okpebholo done since assuming office last November?
Who are the investors he is talking to?—he can't even communicate effectively
What economic policies has he put in place?—that's if he even knows what's policy
A sad, miserable and unfortunate four years for Edo capable of dragging a once-thriving State significantly backward, under the clueless and incompetent leadership of the "new Chariff in town".
Okpebholo must understand that being a governor is beyond title, position and perks of office—governance is leadership backed by responsibility, creativity, vision and teamwork, yielding results—not manipulated election results, but results of developmental works beneficial to the people.
If Okpebholo is not embarrassed by the series of ridicule he brings on Edo, sensible Edos are embarrassed; Edo people—known for excellence and prestige are really, truly embarrassed.
Today, Edo parades a give-away governor who has nothing to bring to the table, having been imposed against the will of Edo people, we are now made to suffer unsolicited setbacks, with weekly dose of embarrassments and ridicule—marking an unfortunate mix of incompetence, cluelessness, a lack of creativity and vision for which the good people of Edo State did not bargain for, but now compelled to leave with for the next four years of their natural life
