In line with the National Working Committee of the party the Edo Senatorial Leader of the All Progressive Party Elder Benson Edosomwan has met with the party aspirants in a bid to Broker peace as the party prepare to hold its primaries in the Senatorial Zone.
Addressing Aspirants at the meeting, Elder Edosomwan task them to Play by the rules lay down by the NWC of the Party, stressing that it is the only way the party can come out stronger as it head to the general election few months from now.
"I have decided to meet with you
today so that we can interact as regards to observing the rules the NWC of our great party has made available to us.
We must as a party put to heart that primaries is more of a family affair and for this we must put the interest of the part ahead of ours,
When we do this, the internal mechanism of our great party will be stronger." he noted.
Responding to the Senatorial leader meeting, the Aspirants thanks the Leader for his Continual commitment to deepen the internal democracy of the party as they pledge to work tirelessly to sustain the party's inter democracy.
Speaking to newsmen after the meeting, the Senatorial leader express satisfaction of the outcome of the meeting when he said.
"I want to first of all think our National Leaders and the National working Committee for the good work they are doing in order to straighten our internal democracy,
Which is why we at the State and Senatorial level have also decide to work with the path they have set for us.
I want to say that I am very happy with the character of sportsmanship that Aspirants in our Senatorial district has exhibited since they started their campaign and also charge them to continue to do so even as we enter the primaries proper.
The meeting which saw a large turn out by the Aspirants from the Senatorial District had in attendance, Aspirants vying for the Edo South Senatorial District, Federal House of Representatives and Edo State House of Assembly.
