Ministerial List: EYM Reacts as Edo Central person absent from list, sends SOS to Buhari

Crusaderhotnews

The Esan Youths Movement (EYM), the umbrella Socio-Cultural Development Organisation of South South Nigeria comprising of over 50,000 members worldwide has reacted to the recent ministerial list presented to the National Assembly by the presidency in which no person from the entire Esan Nation was included in the list despite the contribution of  Esan people to the making of modern Nigeria including the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).

This reaction is contained in an SOS letter being transmitted to the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhamadu Buhari.

In the SOS letter signed by the National President of EYM, Comrade Kingsley Ohens, EYM lament the complete relegation of the Esan Nation by the APC led government both at the center and at the state level. This relegation is again manifest in the recently released ministerial list in which no Esan person made the list.

This is a far cry from the historic contributions to national development made by Esan leaders in the past and present.

Going memory lane, Comrade Ohens opined that "Chief Mathew Atamah founded the Action Congress of Democrats (ACD) that later became the Action Congress (AC) and later Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and later All Progressive Congress (APC) now the ruling party. Atamah gave up his platform for Oshiomole to fly because of the selfless nature of the Esan people. How can these sacrifice be forgotten all of a sudden?" Ohens Queried.

Further more, Comrade Ohens stated that Esan people have been proven to contribute immensely to nation building from the very beginning of Nigeria to modern times. An Esan man Anthony Enahoro was instrumental to the achievement of  Nigeria Independence and the civil war effort to keep Nigeria together.

EYM in the SOS letter to the president draw heavily from history and the good and result oriented nature of the Esan people and therefore appeal to the president to consider the Esan people for key appointments in its government pointing out that the presidency stand to gain a lot if they appoint the Esan people to handle key business of Government.

Ohens called on all Esan people worldwide irrespective of political affiliations to unite more than before in order not to be extinct from the national power game.
