If the NWC of the APC thinks imposition of former governor Emmanuel Uduaghan as the sole candidate will yield victory to the party, then the Party should kiss the senatorial position Good bye.
I wonder why any right thinking politician in this 21st century would disqualify five other fresh aspirants for a two term former governor who couldn't secure this same senate ticket for himself as a seating governor while in PDP three years ago and still believe the party can capture the senatorial district from the same man he couldn't take the the ticket from as a governor.
A former governor who isn't man enough to slung it out with Senator James Manager to get the Senate ticket in PDP this time around but quickly ran to the same APC he frustrated while he was governor, instead of going through a free and fair contest with other aspirants, he decides to lobby through top chieftains of the party to defranshise faithful aspirants who once faced this same man's unfriendly policies while he was governor.
We wouldn't have seen anything wrong if the all aspirants where allowed to contest in the Primaries, and he won them, but denying all five other aspirants and imposing Emmanuel Uduaghan as the only candidate is a slap on our democracy, it will lead to breakdown of law and other in the Senatorial district and we are condemning this act in strong terms.
This isn't the All Progressive Congress we have promoted all these years, we cannot be treated as second class citizens in a party we have worked for since it's formation. This isn't the change we have been preaching, if we must get it right, then there's need for us to do the right thing.
Delta South Senatorial District is not for sale, the senatorial is is not for the highest bidder, we have suffered years of neglect under the PDP, we can't afford to continue as a people with these trend. We re saying NO to imposition of Emmanuel Uduaghan on us, the man is not saleable, we are calling for a transparent primaries election where we will choose who become our party flagbearer.
This is our call, we are saying NO to any party National imposing a candidate on us. We have campaigned vigorously, if the party really wants to capture Delta State entirely, then we must do things in the right manner to win elections this time.
