Benin city - Respite has come the way of two ex Insurance officials Mr George Omokaro and Pa Pulley Osayande who have been down with varied life threatening health challenges as Edo deputy governor,Rt Hon comrade Philip Shaibu has promised to offset their medical bills with additional cash for upkeeps.
The deputy Governor made the promise when he paid a solidarity visit to the two ex-Insurers in Benin yesterday evening.
The deputy Governor in the separate meeting with the ex-Insurers told them that Obaseki government does not turn its back at those who have served the state meritoriously and assured them of support.
"The information on your health condition reached me yesterday and I feel you people deserve our support. And I want you to know that you are not abandoned. We are taking care of your medical bills and will also follow up with the process till you are fine." He assured.
The deputy Governor specifically directed that Mr Pulley be taken to UBTH for further treatment by medical experts as he was not pleased with the condition he met him after the surgical operation done on him in a private hospital in Benin.
The beneficiaries Mr George Omokaro is one of the greatest players ever played for Insurance.
He was captain of Insurance in his time and father of Charles Omokaro the present captain of Insurance. George Omokaro also at a time served as FA chairman in Edo state and was NFF board member while Pulley Osayande served as a driver popularly referred to as 'Pilot one'.

As part of his style of motivation and untiring effort to get the best out of Bendel Insurance FC,Edo state Deputy Governor Rt Hon comrade Philip Shaibu has promised players of the Benin based club a million naira per goal against Rivers utd fc in Wednesday's match day 10 game in Benin.
The sports loving deputy Governor made the declaration shortly after evening training session with the team yesterday.
The comrade deputy Governor who noted that Insurance is not a high scoring side challenged the team with the largesse as usual to spur them.
" You know we can't afford to lose at home but we must play better than we did at Akure. We don't want you to play under pressure because we need three points but play as a team and score goals. You know how we do it, score goals and get millions of naira.
I mean if you beat Rivers utd by three unreplied goals you get N3.M and if you score above that it keeps increasing but if you allow them to score against us minus a million. Are we in agreement?" He emphasized.
The players who were happy to have the comrade deputy Governor trained with them in return promised to deliver for the club and reciprocate the deputy Governor's kind gesture.
Responding, the technical manager of the Benin arsenals, Monday Odigie thanked the deputy Governor for his fatherly love for the club and assured him of good result and continues development of the team.
