The text message reproduced herein under is a replicate of messages sent to owners of prepaid customers by Funke Osibodu and the Benin Electricity Distribution Company.
*"Your Mtr No 042482***** *avg. monthly vending is less than 50 Unit(B4), which is very low considering avg. availability. Vend suitably to avoid disconnection".*
As we all know, prepaid meter owners pay ahead of service, as a matter of fact BEDC is the one owing the customer ahead of service not delivered. If that is the case; why would the BEDC be threatening the customer with a disconnection? The only offence committed by prepaid meter customers is that, they cannot be forced to pay for darkness like those without metres and postpaid meters that are no longer read by them.
We want to enjoin you to ignore such text message from the BEDC, don't do any recharge until you exhaust your units. nobody should compel you to pay for what you didn't consume. You can only recharge your meter if only they supply you electricity that has exhausted your units.
JUST HOPE AND PRAY, THEY MAKE DO THEIR THREAT TO DISCONNECT YOU, THEN THEY WILL KNOW HOW IT FEELS TO PAY HEAVY COMPENSATIONS THROUGH THEIR NOSTRILS.
BEDC is criminal in its operations and must be stopped and shown the way out by any means necessary this year as its operational licence elapses December, 2019.
