Even If I Were A Mad Man, Will You Not Protect And Cover Me? Obaseki Slams Oshiomhole

Crusaderhotnews

Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki has fired at the All Progressives Congress National Chairman, Mr. Adams Oshiomole in the latest spat on the on-going feud and power tussle on who controls the Edo State House of Assembly saying he will not allow anyone, not even himself to use Edo State as a pun in anybody’s political chess game.

The governor, while addressing a select group of press men said it is thoroughly embarrassing that the individual they have at the center (referring to Adams Oshiomole) is the one who is superintending over the problems in the legislative arm.

”It is thoroughly embarrassing that at the center we have our own person who is supposed to superintendent this.

”So if your children are fighting and you cannot come in and settle them, then what authority do you have to even be a father?” he asked.

Speaking further, he slammed the APC Chairman saying even if he was the worst governor, the mere fact that he stands as the only APC governor in the whole of the South East and South South ought to make Oshiomole have a re-think on the strategy to adopt.

”Even if I was the worst governor of Edo State, or in Nigeria but I am the only governor of my party in the whole of South East and the South South.

Even if I were a mad man, will you or whoever it is at the top not protect and cover me?”

”Are you now the one that will now come and create the structure at home? No matter how serious our problems are, will you now go out of your house and go outside and tell outsiders to take over your home?” to which his audience replied ”No, not possible”.

Continuing, he asked ”Do you want me as your governor to keep quiet and allow this to happen?” to which his audience erupted into shouts of No!

”Should I not fight back? That is what you are seeing. We shouldn’t be afraid because this can only produce good for Edo state.”

”Edo would have been in the same situation as Zamfara if not for God and my patience. How can I as a governor conduct elections and somebody comes and cancels them and then goes and begin to manipulate and throws in all sorts of people in there and now wants to use the same people to fight me and remove me from office and you say I should keep quiet.

”So I have said it that at the end of the day, I only have one mandate; to serve Edo people and as long as God has given me this opportunity, I will not allow Edo State to be a pun in anybody’s political chess game.

”And I believe that God being with us, no one, not even me can come out tomorrow and say, because I’ve done well, therefore I must pocket Edo State.” he concluded

Lets have your thoughts below.
