An Edo Philanthropist has donated 1,000 litres of diesel, internet router with 100gigabits to the Nigeria Union of Journalist, Edo state council, in bid to make sure that they carryout their duty diligently as the watchdog of the society.

Albert Obaze said it became incumbent on him to support Journalist knowing fully well that they do receive budget from government or eulogy in performing their constitutional duty.
"The essence of my gesture was to ensure that journalists write objectively as well operate independently in the society without being influenced by the powers that be. I'm not doing this for the governor, criticize him well he is not doing well and also encourage him when he is on the right part"
"I'm calling on all well spirited Edo sons and daughters to give generously to people who are in need as well as contribute to the development of Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists"
In his remark, the state council chairman, Comrade Roland Osakue thanked the donor and urged him to keep the good gesture as it would assist journalists in the state to carry out their functions effectively.
He urged journalists to continue to engaged the government constructively and sustain the confidence of the public.
Comrade Osakue used the opportunity to call on other well meaning Nigerians to follow suit in giving out to the union as well as other in the society.
