The leadership of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State
council has congratulated the duo of Dr. Osagie Ehanire on appointment
as Minister of Health and Hon. Clement Agba as Minister of State for
budget and National Planning respectively.
The Union also commended President Mohammadu Buhari for finding the
two Edo sons worthy of being appointed as Ministers of the Federal
Republic of Nigeria.
The NUJ in a Statement signed by the Chairman, Sir Roland Osakue and
Secretary Comrade Titus Akhigbe noted that the re-appointment of
Ehanire as Minister was a clear indication that Mr. President must
have been impressed by his achievements in the same Ministry in the
last dispensation.
The Union, however urged Osagie and Agba to see the appointments as a
call to national service and they should strive hard to use their
positions in the Federal cabinet to attract development to Edo State.
The council also noted Agba’s massive Contributions to the development
of Edo State as commissioner for environment and Public Utilities
under the last administration of the Comrade Governor, Adams Aliyu
Oshiomhole.
“The Union thank President Buhari for making two Edo sons Ministers.
We urge Osagie and Agba to see their appointments as a call to
national service. They should strive hard to use their positions in
the federal cabinet to attract development to Edo State”.
“They should continue in their selfless service to human development
and also work hand in hand with Mr. President to stop the current
insecurity in Nigeria”.
