The Chairman of Orhionmwon local government council Hon. Syvester Okoro yesterday charged the Urhonigbe sons and daughters not to entertain any apprehension as regards the land dispute between them and Umutu community of Delta State.
The Council Boss gave the charge at the palace of Chief Gorge Ogbeiwi, the Okaevbo of Urhonigbe when he led some of his senior aides and council executives to erect a sign post indicating the boundary between the two communities.
While admonishing the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Urhonigbe Division, to ensure the lives and properties of Urhonigbe people top his operational priority, he order a Police checkpoint be mounted at the boundary to forestall any possible breakdown of law and order.
The Okaevbo and his Chiefs, thanked the Chairman for his proactive disposition to the lingering boundary disputes, they prayed for God protection and wisdom for him to continue in his people-friendly approach to governance.
Chairman later visited the Urhonigbe Divisional Police Station to meet with the DPO on best modalities in ensuring both the security agency and the community are in the same page as regards the safety of all inhabitants.
In a related development, the Enogie of Umogun-Uzuogboe, HRH. Kingsley Imayayonmwangbe have showered praises on Hon. Okoro for being a worthy son.
The admonition was made when the Orhionmwon Council Boss went for the inspection of the industrial borehole sited in the community.
Enogie said, "our Son, we are proud of you, in less than two years in office as Chairman, you've almost touched all areas in terms of good governance and service to your people.
We will continue to ask our Ancestors to guide and protect you, we couldn't have ask for a more committed and loyal son in the helm of affairs at the council".
In company of the Umogun-Uzuagboe born Council Boss were the Vice Chairman of the Council Hon. Christian Iweka, the secretary Hon. Sunday Okakan, and special adviser to the chairman Hon. Vincent Imade. Others are Supervisors, head of departments and other Chairman's aides.
