Edo Correspondents chapel hosts training on Fake News

The Correspondents Chapel of the
Nigeria Union of Journalists, Edo state Council with tomorrow host its 2019 Mandatory Training Program for Members at the NUJ Pres Centre, Benin City from 10am.

The Theme of the training according to a statement by the organizing committee chair, Don Ofure Osehobo is Fake News as a Menace to Nigeria's democracy.

He said the training program will feature an opening ceremony which will be open to the Public with Special Guest of Honor, as HE Governor Godwin N. Obaseki and chaired by Prof Edoba Omoregie of the University of Benin Faculty of Law.

Osehobo added that a facility tour by Invited Guests  of the Correspondents Chapel Secretariat, Inside the NUJ Press Centre, Benin City will follow the opening ceremony.

The training proper will be open to accredited Correspondents of National dailies, magazines and broadcast stations alongside Invited Journalists and is expected to have paper presentations by two foremost journalists, but now n the academia.

They are former General Manager of the Edo Broadcasting Service, Revd. Tunde Ebozogie now of Benson Idahosa University, Benin City and former Insider Magazine Correspondent, Dr Felix Oriakhi now of Federal University, Otuoke.

Revd Ebozogie will deliver a paper on Contemporary definitions and Concepts of Fake News as well as sources while Dr Oriakhi will speak on impact of  Fake News on National development and Nigeria's Democratic Experiment
