A group made of professionals from Orhionmwon based in the United States and Canada known as the Orhionmwon League of Professionals have appealed to the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki to help save the nomination of an Orhionmwon son and former Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt. Hon. Pius Odubu as NDDC Chairman designate.
This is coming on the heels of some reports emanating from the Presidency and cited in some national dailies last week that the Presidency may have concluded plans to reverse the appointments of the newly constituted NDDC Board of which Rt. Hon. Odubu had been pencilled down to be its chairman.
Rising from its meeting yesterday, the group resolved to send a delegation to Edo state within the coming week to meet with the governor and seek his assistance in ensuring that their son isn't humiliated by the Presidency.
They however agreed that they are aware that Mr. Obaseki may not have been consulted over the nomination of Odubu initially, but that notwithstanding they recognise that their is no federal appointments that takes place in the state which the governor has no input in, hence they hope to convince him to do everything possible to ensure that Rt.Hon.Odubu secures the job, or in the event that he loses out be compensated with another appointment in Abuja.
They maintained that irrespective of the fact that Odubu is their son, it doesn't take away the fact that Gov. Obaseki has done well for Orhionmwon people and Edos in general and have assured him that the good people of Orhionmwon are solidly behind the governor and his reelection come 2020.
