Today I sign off from all PDP platforms, and resign my membership of the party. Not because PDP is much worse than any other of its ilk in Nigeria but its leadership in Edo has consistently reenacted tainted tendency of structural ignominy reminiscent of 2004 era.
There comes a time in the life of a man when he stands up to the facts and reality of his mortal existence. Edo state PDP is calibrated for doom and failure. Its State leadership reminds us as historians of Hitler's demonic and totalitarian despotism.
The cabal of Edo PDP leadership took a most uncompromising and very divisive turn when the benevolent leader passed on and all those entrusted with his legacies turned inept. The Chairman with his assemblage of barely literate exco became the dragon commanding a voiceless, docile and highly intimidated bunch who were hardly ever invited to any strategic meeting but are recipients to magisterial orders.
All grumble voicelessly but turn slavish at his sight. He never added values to the party but quarreled with very genuine attempts to attract supportive ideas towards raising standard. He would receive funding support but dispense nothing. Owe salaries already funded by patriotic supporters and yet give no account of his actions. He was like a sole maximum ruler in a Democratic setting.
The level of his impunity and Draconian disposition led many into quiet sabbatical. He Believes in being in opposition for live because it benefits his greedy appetite of beggarliness.
Some of his cronies who demonstrate some iota of intelligence have been reduced to palpable rubber stamp. Yet he revels in impunity and exclusiveness. Recently he started suspending stakeholders of the party on mere suspicions.
This obviously got to a head and has become imperative to redefine our platform of allegiance where mutual respect will be accorded those whose intellects and strategic inputs will be acknowledged in uplifting the party rather than been waved off with impunity. I remain your friends even as we reach the end of the rainbow. As the playwright said, if we meet again we shall smile, otherwise this parting was well made. I wish PDP well in its forays but there must be a rethink on issues of policies and strategy.
The memory of the late leader, Chief Anenih is impugned by the individual and collective actions of the present leadership in Edo. Adieu.
