A CRY FROM KIDNAPPERS’ DEN: SAD TALE OF A FINAL YEAR AAU STUDENT

Crusaderhotnews

On December 8th 2019, Miss Ojemire Faith Bisi; a Final year student of the Nursing department, Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, Edo State, was kidnapped at her school gate by yet to be identified gunmen.

Few hours later, the abductors used her phone line to call her father -Mr Thomas Ojemire; a taxi driver, demanding for a ransom of Three million naira.

The kidnappers later reduced the ransom to One million naira after an excruciating negotiation. They gave out an account number where the ransom money was to be paid into.

The sum of #51,000 was initially paid into the said bank account provided by the devilish kidnappers.

But as at Sunday, December 29, 2019, a total of #500,000 had been paid into the bank account and the evil men are still demanding for more.

Surprisingly, the matter was reported to the Police on December 9 2019 and it was backed up with an official letter dated 9th December, 2019 and addressed to the State Commissioner of Police.

A similar letter was also written to the State Director of the Department of State Service (DSS).

But the devastated father of the kidnapped girl; Mr Thomas Ojemire is in shock as to why the Police, the DSS have not done anything to help free his daughter who has been held captive for over 21 days.

“If they are doing anything about it, why have they not been able to trace their calls. They (kidnappers) call us everyday, sometimes even two to three times a day using the same phone number and we have been paying money into the bank account they gave to us.

“Why will they abandon us?, Is it because we are poor? I have borrowed and sold some of my property to raise the #500,000 that I have paid into their account.

“Also, why is the authority of Ambrose Alli University silent over the matter? Why have they not said or done anything about it?

“I am using this medium to appeal to all men of goodwill to intervene into this matter and free my innocent daughter from those holding her. Since December 9, 2019, I have not seen or heard the voice of my daughter”, cried Mr Thomas Ojemire.
