Chairman of Ocean Marine Solutions Limited (OMSL), Captain Hosa Wells Okunbo over the weekend was invited and detained by the Department of State services (DSS) for allegedly sponsoring hoodlums to attack the Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Hadiza Usman Balla in Abuja after she appeared at the Senate to testify against Captain Hosa’s OMSL.
The NPA boss had reported attack on her person by hoodlums allegedly sponsored by Captain Hosa’s OMSL, a company she was having a lingering battle over an anchorage area on the water off Lagos.
Usman said she was physically attacked by hoodlums sponsored by Captain Hosa at the premises of the National Assembly in Abuja after she appeared at the joint senate committee, which is currently probing the NPA/OMSL faceoff over the Secured Anchorage Area (SAA).
In a petition addressed to the Inspector General of Police, the president of the Senate and Director General of the States State Services, Hadiza Usman called for the prosecution of perpetrators of the act.
Usman alleged that the action was perpetrated “by people believed to be hirelings of Chairman of Ocean Maritime Solutions Limited (OMSL), Captain Idahosa Okunbo.”
“On leaving the meeting room some hoodlums that accompanied Captain Okunbo to the hearing ambushed me at the exit door and tried to push their way towards me to physically attack me,” she wrote in the petition.
In swift response, the DSS invited and detained Captain Hosa after investigations confirmed his involvement in the dastardly act.
