The Executive Chairman of Ikpoba-Okha Local Government, Dr. Eric Osayande has presented cash awards to winners of the children summit; the talent hunt been an initiative of the Edo Basic Education Sector Transformation (#EDOBEST) seeks to showcase pupils skills, talents and discover new ones in them
Presenting cash awards to best-performing pupils from various primary schools in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area at the Council Secretariat, Idogbo on Thursday, the Council Chairman, represented by the Vice Chairman, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government, Hon. Jolly Osayande commended the various school heads/teachers for guiding the pupils to excellence
Osayande said “the Local Government highly appreciate our teachers/pupils for the wonderful performance during the last children’s summit, this is why we all are here today to do the award presentation”
“I will not relent in this effort to always provide meaningful projects and programmes that will benefit our teachers and pupils in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area” Osayande said
Various categories including but not limited to maths competition, inventions, science fair, letter chants, choir and cultural dance were contested
Names of pupils/beneficiaries, categories, position and schools are here stated, Omoregie Favour, maths, 1st, Enikaro Primary School got N20,000; Osazuwa Nekpen, maths, 2nd, of Ohovbe Primary School got N10,000; Goodluck Ighiwiyisi who came 1st in inventions, from Adolor Primary School got N10,000; Erhahon Wisdom from Ohoghobi Primary School who came out 2nd in inventions took home N10,000
Others are Igbinovia Increase from Army Day Primary School, came out 3rd in inventions taking home N10,000; meanwhile Michael Ossai from Ohen Primary School came out 4th in inventions taking home N10,000; Nkemezie from Eresonyen Primary School came out 1st in Science Fair taking home N10,000
Meanwhile, Confidence from Eresonyen Primary School also emerged 1st in Science Fair taking home N10,000; while Emmanuel Emenike from Uwa Primary School came out 1st in Letter Chants taking home N10,000
Present at the event were Director, Administrative and General Services, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government, Mr. Frank Osa-Idahosa, Vice Chairman, NULGE, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government, Pst. Jossy Duze, Education Secretary, Mr. Omagbon J.O., HPM, Mr. Osayande S.I.
Others are HOS, Social Mobilization, Mr. Osamwonyi D.O., HOS, Sports, Mr. Iyamu S., and HOS, School Support Services, Mrs. Ella Idahosa
Meanwhile, Dr. Eric Osayande has promised to sponsor winner of the 2020 Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Principal’s Cup to Channels Cup bid for later in the same year
