The Chairman of Orhionmwon local government council, Hon. Syvester Okoro has matched words with action as he fulfilled the electioneering campaign promise made to the people of Umoghun-Zuagboe to construct both open and locked up shops for the community.
While thanking the people for their support for his administration, he promised to ensure the project is completed within 3months with immediate commencement of the second phase of the project that include locked-up stops.
In his words, "I want to sincerely appreciate your support for my administration, your prayers, suggestion on how to move the local government forward and the unconditional love shown me. Be rest assured, the first phase of the project which is 50 open stores will be completed within 3months while the second phase which is locked-up shops will kick off immediately".
The Council Boss further admonished the residents to give the necessary support to the contractor handling the project and warned against distractions of any form that might hinder speedy completion of the job.
Speaking on behalf of the community, Enogie of Umoghun-Zuagboe HRH Kingsley Iyayonmwangbe thanked the Chairman for keeping to his campaign promises. He assured him of the community's cooperation in ensuring the project is monitored, without any form of encumbrances from his subjects.
A representative of market women, Madam Faith Edorisiagbon showered encomium on the Chairman for standing to his words, saying the market have been in the state of disrepair for more than 30years now. She assured the chairman of judicious utilization of the laudable project.
It will be recalled during campaigns for the chairmanship of Orhionmwon local government council, Hon. Okoro promised the people a befitting market and pipe borne water. The water project is completed, ready for commissioning.
