The greatest words that have been said that retains potency after centuries came from the lips of politicians who disguise as philosophers, in some cases men and women endowed in the sacred order of religion.
Their pronouncements erupts from either experiences or divine intuition; so was Nemesis identified by the early Greeks as the natural law of retributive justice which early philosophers regard as Karma.
Nemesis or Karma explains the reason why nature follows a certain pattern of reward, like harvesting maize when maize seeds are planted, earning rent when you develop a property, reaping joy and surplus when you give, and dying by the sword when you kill by the sword.
According to the Holy scriptures, whatever a man sow that shall he also reap. If you sow evil, you shall definitely reap evil and vice versa.
The worse plantation though literal, is the battle within a family which the Bible describes as house hold enemies. They are not necessarily witches and wizards but those who never wish you well; those whose intention is to perpetually have you under their dominion while willingly commanding your worship; men and women who ignorantly assume god in the families, organizations, public life etcetera.
But there is one declaration like many others by Bishop David Olatunji Abioye of the Living Faith Church where he reaffirmed the potency of Karma saying, "whatever won't let you go forward will go backward.
Whatever won't let you go up will go down permanently."
This is particularly potent with pretenders who could best be tagged saboteurs in political arrangements.
They are the household enemies and the Bible identified them to be the worse, but their Karma is always awake.
Those who have been detailed enough to understand Edo politics since 1999 are not strangers to Dr. Pius E. Odubu and Barr. Samson R. Osagie. Odubu served as member House of Representatives between 1999 - 2007 before running with Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to become Edo State Deputy Governor between 2008 - 2016.
Osagie served at the Edo State House of Assembly between 1999 - 2007 and House of Representatives between 2007 - 2015.
While the earlier was a super gubernatorial aspirant of the APC in 2016, the later was APC Edo South Senatorial candidate in 2015 where both respectfully lost.
The tale of Odubu and Osagie from Orhionmwon and Uhunmwode is a story of greatness with an irony of community backwardness.
While Osagie may be excused following his modest efforts and limitations as a legislator, his unending fraternity with a man who served Edo State as Deputy Governor for eight years with nothing to show in his area has made a mess of whatever is left with Osagie's reputation.
How will you describe a Deputy Governor who built a police station opposite his house in the village to cage his recalcitrant brothers when his boss, the Governor was building a standard B University opposite his house to nurture and export his brothers across the globe?
One would have expected Odubu and Osagie to understand that power is transient, and whatever you are or will continue to be can only be permitted by God and a little of your struggle.
It was since 2016 when Odubu contested for the Edo APC governorship ticket with Osagie as the Director General of his campaign organization and lost that hell let loose; they concluded having stayed in power for so long and assume ownership that it is either they have their way or the house be destroyed.
There are testimonies of how they supported Ize-Iyamu and PDP against Mr. Godwin N. Obaseki in 2016 while pretending to be APC leaders in their domain, but God who gives power thwarted their efforts at sabotage and gave Obaseki victory. They sort to control a government they wish never existed.
When the tactics of reaping where they didn't sow crashed, they quickly sort the feet of same godfather they debased for choosing Obaseki above them. Oshiomhole embraced them and offered patronage.
Odubu served as head of Congress Committee in a northern state and later appointed Director of Logistics of the Presidential Campaign Council.
Osagie was deployed to NIGCOMSAT as Executive Director, Marketing with the privilege of frequent travels abroad.
Dr. Pius E. Odubu was later to be the NDDC Chairman when nemesis came calling.
Odubu and Osagie after sabotaging the APC in 2016 to spite Governor Godwin Obaseki, they pushed further and seek to punish Hon. Patrick Aisowieren, a two time Edo State House of Assembly member and currently in the House of Representatives.
Their bitterness was that Aisowieren dare to protect the governor in Orhionmwon and Uhunmwode LGAs against their wish, and his only punishment is that he will never return to the National Assembly or get anymore patronage like what they did to Hon. Saturday Uwuilekhue after Odubu won alongside Oshiomhole in 2008, but no man is God.
Aisowieren officially contested the 2019 National Assembly seat against PDP, but his real opponent was Odubu and Osagie who vowed never to forgive political wrongs despite collecting millions in appeals.
The story of how the young and generous Hon. Patrick Aisowieren defeated the combine force of PDP, Odubu and Osagie to take the federal constituency to another phase of leadership of inclusiveness and development is no longer news.
The news is the nemesis the perpetrators of sabotage have continued to suffer.
The case of Dr. Pius E. Odubu as NDDC Chairman designate is historically tragic as the first to be nominated, screened and confirmed by the Senate and got disbanded before inauguration, and in one week, sensing the hand of Karma, Barr. Samson R. Osagie is relieved of his job in the Presidency.
The bitter truth Odubu and Osagie's followers are afraid to hear is that, they never worked for the re-election of President Mohammadu Buhari in the bid to deny Aisowieren a return to the National Assembly and disgrace Governor Obaseki in his Senatorial District.
The confessions are everywhere of how much they collected from PDP on election day, who got what and the results that came from units controlled by their loyalists.
Odubu and Osagie are hiding under the crisis between the Governor and National Chairman to profit from the party they so hate in their heart.
They actually succeeded with men, but Karma gave them the true fruit of the seed they have sown in APC since 2016, and unless they repent, they can never defeat Nemesis.
May those who won't let you go forward go backward.
