The All Progressives Congress has accused the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole of disobeying the choice of Benin monarch, HRM Oba Ewuare II in the party.

Edo State factional Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr Joseph Osagiede disclosed this at the party Secretariat on Monday in Benin City.
He repeated assertion that the State Chapter of the party has no confidence in APC reconciliation Committee led by the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, alleging that members of the group were interested parties in the crisis.
He recalled how Oba Ewuare II led Edo State Council of Traditional rulers Council and Chiefs to meet President Muhammadu Buhari towards finding amicable solution to APC crisis in the State, but to no avail.

Osagiede, accused Oshiomhole of supporting and harbouring dissidents members who left the party to form Edo Peoples Movement (EPM), a pressure group to destabilise the party in the State.
“Once the Oba has expressed a wish about anything, it becomes a wish for all of us that are Edo people.
so, the Oba’s wish is a command that they should be peace about this political imbroglio.
and for Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to still be harbouring these dissidents who left the party and are forming EPM, and he is still supporting them.
“He (Adams Oshiomhole) is working against the wish of the Oba of Benin.
And we are all aware that recently, the Oba of Benin with Edo State traditional rulers council of Chiefs, announced that we should hold prayer and fasting to avert a calamity in this year, all because of the political crisis that is going on.
“Any wise man, any wise leader, any wise political National Chairman that knows that he is directly responsible for all these crisis, should take a queue from such a statement by the Oba, meet the governor, Godwin Obaseki to the Oba and say, your royal Majesty, we have reconciled.
Wee do not want crisis in Edo State”, he said.
Osagiede also called on President Muhammadu to set up a reconciliatory Committee to reconcile the feuding parties in the crisis, haven lost confidence in the past Committees earlier set up by the National Working Committee of the party and the National Assembly due largely for their personal interest in the crisis.
“We do not have any faction in APC.
That might surprise some of you (journalists) to hear.
Those who left this party (APC) left to form Edo Peoples Movement (EPM) till date remains an unregistered political association of social social association that has no bearing whatsoever with APC.
Although some of our National leaders including our National Chairman is flirting with some of the members, it has nothing to do with us.
“We have always said that we are willing and care for reconciliation, but, we cannot be talking about reconciliation when an interested party in the issue is asked to midwife.
The Presidency or the Benin Traditional Council can set up a Committee for reconciliation.
“It is not for us to say we want to reconcile when we are part of the issue.
That was we also rejected the reconciliation Committee that was set up by Adams Oshiomhole because of the members had vested interest on the issue.
“For instance, it was the deputy Speaker that presided over the House of Representatives that passed a resolution to takeover Edo State House of Assembly.
Now, you have become a member of the reconciliatory Committee to reconcile Edo State APC and the National Chairman. How can we have confidence in you?
