Today was another hearing in the case instituted against the civil society groups, communities and youth groups by the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC).
They had approached the court for the purpose of obtaining a perpetual injunction to restrain the aforementioned trio for further protests against their inefficient operations in the state and also demanding the sum of N500, 000, 000 (five hundred million) as compensation.
Dr. Osagie Obayuwana, a renowned civil rights lawyer and President Aigbokhan Esq, a public interest lawyer representing the civil society took BEDC witness in a most tactical voyage during cross examination thereby exposing a whole lot of inconsistencies in responses and variation with sworn oath of statements.

It is getting clearer by each court sitting that the fight against the people by Funke Osibodu and BEDC cannot stand. The people is the repository of sovereignty and no conspiracy or army can withstand the desire and expectations of the people.
Case was adjourned to 20th of March, 2020 for opening of defence.
We want to commend all the comrades that came out in their numbers and those that attended the court session through the notice on social media. When the story of the stand against agents of darkness will be told in future, history will surely vindicate you all.
