Following non payment of four months arrears of salary, non implementation of promotion and its arrears since 2015, non reversal of demoted staff done without recourse to due process, even when government has approved, non constitution and inauguration of a governing council and many other benefits due to staff of the Polytechnic.
Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic, (ASUP) Edo state Chapter has demanded that management must pay up all benefit due to staff in the institution.
This will enable workers to live a better life like other lecturers in other institution in Nigerian.
The Chairman made this statement while speaking to our reporter at Edo State Polytechnic, Usen as police barred the institution's lecturers from gaining access into the school premises to conduct the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic, (ASUP) Edo State chapter's election.
The action of the management and police made the lecturers angry and they decided to stay outside the gate to conduct their election.
The newly elected chairman of ASUP, Usen Poly chapter, Engr. Paul Aziegbemhin said the shutdown of the school gate against the lecturers was uncalled for, he said according to the law, you must have a governing council in place, to prevent things like this from happening, this is what you get from the rule of one man, by one man and for one man.
He said nowhere in Nigeria that the visioners of the Polytechnic education or that of the university sector, actually had it in mind that somebody act as a sole administrator at any tertiary institution.
On her part the Head of Marketing department at the Polytechnic Mrs. Omo Amen said this had never happened in this institution before were lecturers can't gain access to the campus to conduct an election into different position of ASUP, at the Polytechnic
The Chairman added that lecturers have been reduced to paupers and virtually beg to survive. This is injustice, man's inhumanity to man.
 Edo state Chapter has demanded that management must pay up all benefit due to staff in the institution.
