inaugurates team to help Sensitize and Curtail the spread of the virus in the Local Government Area.....
Following directives by the State government that a COVID-19 team be inaugurated at the Local Government level as well as the ban placed on all public gathering of over 50 persons in the state.
The Chairman Ovia North East Local Government, Honorable Scott Ogbemudia has today inaugurated the team who's task is to help curtail spread of the corona Virus in the Local Government Area.
Inaugurating the team which he is to Chair, Ogbemudia tasks members of the team on selfless service by delivering their duties professionally and responsibly.
Reiterating the State Governor's commitment and readiness to put in place measures in dealing with COVID-19 threat in the state, the council Boss revealed, that it became necessary that they at the Grassroot level complement the efforts of the State Government to combat the deadly pandemic.
Ogbemudia said " as the Chairman of the Committee, I want to sincerely appeal to you the members to put in your best so that we can record a huge success in combating this life threatening pandemic.
"You all know the premium place on Healthcare Sector by our amiable wake and See Governor since the inception of his administration and as such we can't but sustain the standard the State Government has put in place if we are to achieve our goals as a team, which is to forestall the spread of the COVID-19".
Ogbemudia urged residents of Ovia North East not to panic as the State Government has taken serious steps to prevent further spread of the virus in the state, as he noted that the Governor has assured that his administration have developed an action plan to cope with the pandemic.
And as well implore them to make known of anyone who arrived from Europe, America or Asia in the last 30 days, by giving the details of such persons, including their phone numbers to the Committee.
*Members of the Committee includes:*
(1) The Chairman, who is the Chairman of the Committee.
(2) The Primary Healthcare Coordinator, who is to function as the Secretary of the Committee.
(3) Supervising Councillors.
(4) Councillors, to Represent each Ward (Communities)
(5) Representative of the Christian Communities
(6) Representative of the Muslim Communities.
(7) Security Personnel.
(8) Representative of the Market Women, Amongst others.
