USA-based nonprofitable organization, the Nigeria International Humanitarian Foundation of England Int. (N.I.H.F.N.E) has donated provisions,toiletries,food items, others to orphans and widows at Uyiosa orphanage and widows Ministry in Benin.
Our correspondent reports that the presence of the organization at the home changed the mood of the orphans and widows as they were seen smiling faces during the visit.
A representative of the organization, Mrs Esohe Ehigiator
noted that the visit was to give the orphans and widows a sense of belonging.
Ehigiator said the items donated was to cushion the effect of hardship of the partial lockdown to curtail the spread of the covid-19 pandemic.
According to her, "The visit is a normal routine exercise of the organization to put smile on children, orphans and widows faces both in good and bad times.
“The Organization representatives are here today to show the orphans and widows a sense of belonging, the organization want you to feel you are not neglected especially in this covid-19 pandemic era.
"The non- profit charitable organization is dedicated to meet the basic humanitarian needs of children, widows, and orphans of all ethnicities, race, religion and agenda throughout the United States and other countries in general."
She noted that it was virtually impracticable for only government to dole out palliatives to everyone at this point in time
She said the Organization which is located in Lynn Massachusetts (USA) was formed by 10 good of friends from different spheres of influence.
Appreciating the organization, Mrs Florence Ruben one of the widows, said "the purpose of this visit is the best thing that has happened to us, particularly some of us who cannot afford anything at this covid-19 pandemic era ,”
“We want to sincerely thank the organization for this initiative at this crucial time that we all found ourselves. I must say I am really impressed with the gesture towards us.”
She called on other public spirited individuals and organizations to assist in alleviating the sufferings of the citizenry.
The orphans were not left out as Osasogie Uyiosa who spoke on behalf of the Children, commended the selfless efforts, he thanked and prayed for the organization.
