The awaited Campaign kickoff of Pastor Osagie Ize-iyamu of the All Progressive Congress, APC, would have to contend with many stigmatizations of the past, now resonating in the surface of the September 19 Gubernatorial election.
Given some blazonry deposited in dealing with a matter of great importance by the deposed APC National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, one would expect him to face electorates absolute clarifications.
Four years winding down, the Public demolition of the Man, "Pastor IZE-IYAMU" is still very fresh in the eyes of the beholder
The fact is that, the increasing risks of subsequent suicide and character stigmatism in the previous electioneering campaigns ascribed to Comrade Oshiomhole, will persists without decline for another "Two Decades" .
Comrade Adams Oshiomhole apparent attempts to market Governor Godwin Obaseki on the road to 2016 election with suicidal gestures, have become a predictor sublethal drug overdose or wrist slash for the campaign ceremony of the APC, and its Standard bearer in the forthcoming election.
His trails and Parasuicide "name calling" including his outright condemnation and rejection of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, APC candidate, who was the PDP standard bearer in 2016 has become a big spec for the man they have endorsed.
Significantly, is the continuous "betrayer's slogan" branded by most of those supporters of Osagie Ize-iyamu.
Oshiomhole who Visibly pull the string in some of his attempts to clear any doubt envisaged by his followers, gave the impression he was less petubbed if Obaseki calls it a shot with him and focus on people's oriented agendas.
According to Oshiomhole, "I don’t care if Obaseki betrays me at the end of the day, Obaseki allegiance should be to the people and not me".
"The oath of office he is going to subscribe to says that he will defend the Constitution of Nigeria; he will do everything to uplift the quality of life of Edo people. Nothing in his oath of office will include “I shall not betray my predecessor” because I have no interest to be betrayed".
In all fairness, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole remarks nailed every insunuations of betrayer's jabs.
The former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress,may have left a stress free trail of endorsement catalogue of encomiums on Governor Godwin Obaseki, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the September 19 governorship election.
Because, bulk of the campaign availably ready and favoring the incumbent Governor today, will help him focus more on governance rather than putting all efforts in deceminating campaign's information
Oshiomhole’s endorsement remarks on Governor Obaseki started by giving accounts of the Governor's backgrounds; stressing that, "God knows that Godwin comes from a large family in Benin Kingdom; he went to school, he finished his secondary school; he went to the University of Ibadan, he finished; there were no issues, he finished in flying colours.
"He went to the US, he did his Masters; he came back home, started helping people to set up businesses".
So the question is, what suddenly changed when they claimed discripancies in the document submitted to the National Working Committee of the Party, NWC, for screening abinitio?
"Again as the head of the Economic team, Oshiomhole said he was the brain box of his administration".
He helped to manage businesses; he helped to set up many banks, including several second-generation banks.
"Obaseki had been part of the tradition, he knows the vision; he knows the mission; he knows the target; he knows where we are; he knows the challenges and he knows how to overcome them".
"He seats in the Office of the Economic Team which he built using his network of friends inside the heart of Government House without demanding one Naira".
"I know my limit; he knows his limit. Godwin Obaseki has worked for seven and half years for the people of Edo State, using his brain, creativity, quietly, not making noise".
"A man like Obaseki who will not ask me to give him contracts, but will promise me, Comrade, you just do the thinking, we will create the means to actualize your thoughts".
Continuing, he said, "And to his credit today, check the books of Edo State, we did not build new structures in Government House with government money.
"That economic team office was built through Godwin’s network".
"Today , it remains a permanent asset of the state government".
"I want us to be calling that building – I don’t see your opponent – Ize-Iyamu being able to say that".
If Oshiomhole is adjudged to have performed in his eight years in the seat of power Obaseki deserves a mention.
However, in what seems to have sent tongues wagging is the remark on IZE-IYAMU'S political ambitions which was badly damaged by same man who told Edo people he can't be trusted with Common patrimony of the state.
Going by Oshiomhole's remarks, he said, "In 2007, check the records, Ize-Iyamu was hiding from EFCC. He did not vote. How can somebody who didn’t vote claim he made me".
"If you have to look at Godwin and his credentials, and you look at a man whose only work, by his CV, was a student, and was rusticated for two years, he read law, but he is not barrister".
Oshiomhole in less than four years gave these remarks interestingly in the 2016 governorship election.
On a flip side today, a swap of political order has taken place with the entire process subverted.
Oshiomhole, today, has become an arc rival of the man he asked Edo People to support.
Working from the opposite camp in the 2020 governorship election precisely, on the side of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.
By simple knowledge, the only thing that may have changed in the catalogue of encomiums on Governor Obaseki is Oshiomhole, himself; all other attributes remain constant.
By implications, Oshiomhole may have falling into political suicide, and could make the APC campaign for the Edo governorship election complicated in marketing Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu as the party’s candidate.
Recall, however,Ize-Iyamu has, attempted an image laundry, saying that all the Oshiomhole said about him in the past did not come from his heart.
In another related development to divert attention from possible fears, multiple Sources informed that, another attempt was made using Abuja high Court to try to stop media from rolling tapes or accepting to play Oshiomhole's dabs on the now APC candidate which was rejected by the Court.
The only thing left for the "August Pastor is to face the Music of macaba and dance to the rhythm.
It is obvious, words have gone forth, people have digested it whilst Ize-Iyamu also did not challenge either the word or Oshiomhole from whom it proceeded from.
Edo people, electorates,his partymen, external bodies and even the Electoral Umpire, INEC, are anxiously waiting for the APC campaign team led by Governor Ganduje of Kanu State to hear what they will say this time, especially, Oshiomhole who is presently lowered in the pecking order of the party talismen.
They are on red alert against deceit, dishonesty, and insincerity over the dommy perhaps to convince Edo People it was a mystery to make his remarks expensive Jokes.
