Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike called on the Oba of Benin Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, on January 2020 to find a way to resolve the political feud between the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and Governor Godwin Obaseki.

According to source @dailypost.ng, Wike called on the Oba of Benin to wade into the political crisis amongst the two leaders of Edo State.

The Governor said although that the monarch is not a politician but he has a vital role to play in resolving the feud.

In his words, “I want to modestly call on you to wade into the political struggle in Edo State. Although you are not a politician, it is important to resolve the feud. Please find a way to treat the issue.”

Wike further asked the South-South Traditional Rulers to form a United Front to work in unity to promote the growth of the geo-political zone.

He said that the Oba of Benin and the Amanyanabo of Opobo Kingdom should not be second class to anyone.

Governor Wike further called on South-South Traditional Rulers to work with the Governors of the zone to map out areas that need developmental action.
