Crusaderhotnews

The Edo state project management unit of the Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP) has taken a step closer to procuring a contractor for reclamation, channeling and remediation works at Ugboha-Uzogban flood erosion site in Esan South East Local Government Area of the state with a bid opening ceremony.

This follow the submission of bid documents by civil engineering firms interested in undertaking the reclamation, channeling and remediation works to the project management in response to advertisements placed in some national dailies.

Earlier a pre-bid conference for representatives of firms interested in vying for the advertised contract work had been organized by the state project management unit for biding firms to seek clarifications and also to visit the Ugboha-Uzogban flood erosion ravaged site for first hand assessment.

Addressing representatives of prospective firms at the bid opening event held at the project management secretariat inside the Palm House Building along Sapele road in Benin City the state project coordinator, Dr. Tom Obaseki, noted the top rate pedigree of the firms they represented and the good work they were already doing with NEWMAP across the country.

The state project coordinator encouraged the representatives of the prospective firms not only to follow the rules and letters of the bidding process but also understand that only the most responsive and advantageous bid will be taken into consideration in choosing the bid winner.
