Massy Osaigbovo Osunde, a top aspirant for the chairmanship position of Ikpoba Okha Local Government Council on the ticket of the PDP, has assured the people of the locality that his aspiration is purely people oriented.

In an exclusive chat, the media practitioner said: "My joker is that I am coming to administer the affairs of Ikpoba Okha Local Government using the template of the people's needs.

"My coming to the council is to implement programmes that impact on the lives of the people. I am a people oriented man. I have lived all my life in their midst and without fear of contradiction I can say with utmost confidence that I can count on my fingertips the main issues that they need solved.

"I am going to sign a MoU with the people with a timeline. I am going to put in place certain things within a space of one year, two years and three years. One of the things that is very dear to my heart is empowerment programme for women, men and even youths of the local government.

"Such empowerment programmes include payment of stipends to students of the local government extraction in tertiary institutions. This will go a long way in ensuring that they are not distracted in their studies and thus they can come out in flying colours at the end of their course of study.

"Also women would be encouraged to set up viable small scale trading that would earn them sufficient profit enough to cater for their family daily needs.

"Widows and indigent people would also be accommodated in this empowerment programme that will be a model for other council areas to emulate."

Going further, Osunde stated: "I will operate an open door policy where there would be a standing instruction that people can reach me at all times for resolution of any issue within the limit of governance and its dividends.

"My phone number would be made available to all and sundry so that when my attention is needed bureaucratic bottleneck will not hinder people from getting assess to me.

"I will encourage the people in each ward of the local government area to list their needs in order of priority so that within the first two years of my administration I would have catered for at least 90 percent of the needs of each ward."
