The immediate past Executive Chairman of Oredo Local Government Council, Hon. Evbareke Jenkins Osunde says that it is ‘’regrettable that Edo State APC has become an irredeemable embarrassment as a disorganized political party floundering from the 2020 gubernatorial electoral defeat to series of legal humiliations and ultimate political perdition .’’
Hon. Osunde noted in a media statement issued in Benin-City this morning that the APC is seeking to surreptitiously overturn the legitimately and overwhelmingly expressed wishes of Edo State voters by maneuvering through obscene back channels in search of some inexplicable judicial magic for success.’’
According to Hon. Evbareke Jenkins Osunde’’ it ought to be persuasively evident to the APC by now that Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki will unchangeably and irreversibly remain as the legitimately elected Governor of Edo State following the judgment of the High Court, the Court of Appeal and now the Election Petition Tribunal.’’
‘’ It will tantamount to a shameless misadventure for a dubious outcome for the APC to launch further judicial challenge after a set of legally formidable and morally unquestionable defeats at three different levels of adjudication and with the same unequivocal judgments against the shady schemes of the APC ‘’, the ex-Council Chairman remarked.
Hon. Osunde further urged the APC to remember that in addition to the judiciary,‘’ there’s also the jury of History and the judgment of the people adding that the entire nation is watching the trend of affairs regarding the evidence-deficit and legally-rickety challenges against the duly elected Governor of Edo State by the All Progressive Congress.’’
He called on ‘’ whatever remnants of leadership ‘’ left in the APC to rally its rapidly diminishing and disappearing membership to join hands with the progressive peoples’ agenda being galvanized and concretized by Governor Obaseki so as to gain a modicum of credibility with Edo citizenry in future.’
