Massydon Osaigbovo Osunde, who has his sight on becoming the next chairman of Ikpoba Okha Local Government Council of Edo State, has charged family members, friends and associates of the late Ezekiel Isesele, the Champion Newspaper correspondent in Edo State who passed on last Saturday morning, to take heart and continue from where he stopped as he is cocksure that the late media practitioner is in sitting on the right arm of God.
Osunde after giving kudos to the leadership and members of the Edo State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and some other individuals who have joined in mourning the late penpusher's demise charged the family not to let what Ezekiel stood for in his life time to die with him.
Some of the qualities that Osunde made mention of was Ezekiel's never say never spirit while doing his job; his adherence to balancing reports as enshrined in the code of the journalism profession and his jovial disposition whereby he was friendly to all and sundry.
"Yes, Ezekiel is no more physically in our midst but in the spirit he is still here with us. As such his family members must not let his ideals to leave with him.
"Ezekiel would be remembered for his knack for getting his reports well packaged and giving ample opportunity for all subjects to be heard(read of) no matter how tough the situation presents itself."
Going further, he commended the Roland Osakue led leadership of the NUJ for standing firm and purposefully in attending to issues regarding the sudden death of their colleague. He extended his thank you note to some networth individuals who have devoted part of their busy schedule to finding a common ground for a befitting burial for the departed journalist.
He gives his support to the idea of a distress bank account to be opened by the union to cater for emergencies and hazards of the job reporters experience daily in their line of duty.
