Edo Central Senator Facilitates Training, Empowerment of women and Youths on Poultry Farming.

Determine to boast agriculture and reduce unemployment in Edo Central Senatorial District, the senator representing Edo central senatorial district of Edo State, Senator Clifford Akhimiemona Ordia has trained and empowered women and youth on Poultry Farming to boost their source of livelihood.

The two days intensive empoernment Program/skill acquisition training which commence on Thursday at the Okaijesan town hall, Irrua was supervised by National Directorate of Employment and DZAVESON CONSULTANT LTD.

Senator Clifford Akhimiemona Ordia, addressing the participants, said the training was facilitated in his bid to ensure youths of the senatorial district were self-employed through productive entrepreneurial skills.

According to him, “I believe in sustainable empowerment rather than consumables empowerment, and that informs the reason I’m organizing this training as part of my constituency project".

Finally, Senator Ordia promised not to disappoint his people, he further promised to concentrate and do the work for which he was elected. He said, " I'm not in the National Assembly for funfair or to acquire wealth, but to change and impact my senatorial district positively. I advised all beneficiaries to make judicious use of the funds to kick-start all you have learnt in the training, and with the knowledge and capital given, the sky will be your starting point." He said

Earlier in a remark, Chairman of the event, Speaker Edo State House of Assembly, RT. Hon. Marcus Onobun, commended the Lawmaker for the gesture, describing him as a symbol of “good representation”.

He recalled how he started life with similar gesture he benefited from, and encouraged the beneficiaries to put it into good use.

Other special guests at the event, Chief Dr. Ulinfun, Rt. Hon. Friday Itulah, Hon. Joe Okojie, all commended Senator Clifford Akhimiemona Ordia for his superb performance in the Senate so far. 

In their good will message, they thanked the Senator for remembering those who voted for him. And urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the knowledge acquired and the starter packs while enjoining them not to squander the grant but invest it in the trade they learnt and also become employers of labour.

National Directorate of Employment Edo State coordinator, Mr. Solomon Edobor thanked Senator Clifford Ordia for creating the conducive environment for the training and supporting NDE in the implementation of its programmes in Edo central senatorial district.

He further charged the participants to make good use of the opportunity.

The participants in turn, expressed their happiness to the senator for facilitating such a programme and promised to make the best use of the fund and the knowledge acquired from the training.

At the end of the training programme, participants were once more empowered with start-up capital of #200,000.00 each and certificate of training.
