A super sponsorship agreement accompanied by a bumper deal is to be signed between foremost football fans movement, Super Eagles Supporters Club (SESC) and popular football academy, Iconica FC.
The partnership deal, set to be concluded early next week, will see Iconica FC being unleashed on the global stage by the Super Eagles Supporters Club by way of brand marketing at all their official functions and outings, both locally and internationally, a deal which will fetch the supporters club several millions of naira.
The sponsorship arrangement which will have the Iconica FC logo appear on the SESC roll up banners and back drop during interviews and press-conferences will see the award winning supporters club benefiting from paid accomodation and feeding grants going into every major tournaments.
"The Super Eagles Supporters Club is a brand we have always admired and for us at Iconica, we will love to commit our strength and resources to a movement like this".
"By way of commitment, we are giving out a reasonable down payment in six figures to demonstrate our intentions to sponsor the group financially and morally just as we anticipate building a long lasting relationship with SESC going forward", a sponsorship agreement letter signed by the UK based Chairman of Iconica FC, Ahmad Adiatu was stumbled upon by this reporter.
When contacted, a surprised Public Relations Officer of Super Eagles Supporters Club (SESC), Olutoye Orishabiyi reluctantly confirmed the development but failed to disclose the actual face value of the agreement.
"It is true that we are at the final stages of concluding a major sponsorship deal with Iconica FC. We are going to be getting grants for our accomodation and feeding at major tournaments we attend and there is even a take off fee included. Our legal department is still studying the details of the contract and in due course we will do the needful. I can tell you it's an agreement 95 percent done and we are excited at the prospects of becoming partners with Iconica FC", the supporters club PRO revealed.
The news is coming just 24 hours after FIFA acknowledged the far reaching contributions of the Super Eagles Supporters Club to the growth of the game in Nigeria and extended an invitation to the club's chairman, Prince Vincent Okumagba to join other leading fan delegates from around the world on an all expense paid trip to Qatar for the FIFA Arab Cup 2021 holding at the end of November till early December.
The sponsorship agreement with Iconica FC, a fast rising football academy in Ibadan, Nigeria is coming just in time as arrangements are being concluded by the SESC to give maximum support to the Super Eagles at the fast approaching Africa Cup of Nations, Cameroun 2021 due to kickoff in January 2022.
