Urged the Promotees to be Professional and Committed in the discharge of their Duties to ensure Efficient Policing.
The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 5 Headquarters, Benin, comprising Delta and Edo State Police Commands, AIG Lawan Tanko Jimeta, psc on Tuesday, 25th January, 2022 decorated three (3) newly promoted Senior Police Officers serving at the Zonal Command Headquarters in Benin City.
2. The Senior Officers include DCP Charles E. Dike, who was decorated with his new rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police.
Until his promotion, he was the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Zonal Criminal Investigations Department, Zone 5 Headquarters, Benin.
Also decorated by the AIG is CSP Oweikpo Bubogbene Pere, the Zonal Provost Marshal, who was promoted to the substantive rank of Chief Superintendent of Police.
The third and final Promotee decorated by the AIG is SP Blessing O. Evbakhavbokun, the 2ic General Investigation, Zonal CID, Benin, who was Promoted to the substantive rank of Superintendent of Police.
3. In his remarks, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 5 Headquarters, Benin congratulated the Promotees and urged them to see their Promotion as the work of God as promotion comes from above.
He reminded them that they must remain professional, committed, dedicated as promotion comes with additional responsibilities and challenges and prayed God to grant them wisdom to shoulder the responsibilities of their new ranks.
The AIG further thanked the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Alkali Usman Baba, psc(+), NPM, fdc and the Police Service Commission for the recommendation and subsequent promotion of the affected Officers.
This, according to the AIG will go a long way in boosting the morale of the Officers and enhance their productivity.
4. In his vote of thanks, on behalf of the Promotees, DCP Charles Dike expressed thanks and appreciation to God Almighty who considered them worthy of elevation to their next ranks.
He also thanked the AIG for finding out time out of his busy schedule to personally decorate them, while promising to work harder, in line with professional ethics and constitutional provisions to justify the confidence reposed on them.
The decoration ceremony was attended by members of the Zone 5 Management team, other Senior Police Officers serving at the Zonal Headquarters, friends and families of the Promotees.
