Few people doubted Comrade Festus Alenkhes' Movement, even when they know his obvious credibility, during the electioneering campaigns for the Chairmanship seat at the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Edo State Council.
They rallied support from their supporters even when the third man in them pricked their minds that Festus Alenkhe was the best candidate for that position.
But those, who trusted Festus Alenkhe, did so and were never going to off their foots from the pedals, until the last dot that makes up a tin line, ends.
They dared, the unfaithful elements with their continued supports and believes, that he would deliver on arrival as the Council Chairman, after the two tenures of Comrade Roland Osakue.
Less than a month after the December 17 decisions that took opposition by storm, there had been a clear paradigm shift in the Unions' approach to things.
The Benins would say, I don't know how you will translate this in your local dialect, “Alughaen” meaning, “Difference” between two persons' concepts, is in the execution.
Comrade Festus Alenkhe is the “Alughaen” Chairman, who had in few weeks, brought 'proper' deliveries to both those who trusted him enough and those who thought he was a joke.
Festus Alenkhe, From Internet browsing facility he Promised, to the installation of CCTV CAMERAS, and now to the renovations of the over Ten age long appalling Toilets' Facilities, all happening in less than a month of his emergence as Chairman.
If for less than a month without external funds, Festus Alenkhe and his team have been able to kick start this way, I wonder why those who collected rents above the termination of the Constitutionally permitted days in office, had done since the past years with such rent monies collected.
These sets of people must be called to render account and refund all monies collected if found culpable.
It's a fraud to do such, knowing your tenure ends in three years, while collecting rents for five years.
The most interesting thing about Festus Alenkhes' prudent and timely deliveries is that, those who have managed the Union before now and wanted to continue even with the two years rent collected ahead, are all alive to witness how things have manifested in just few weeks.
Comparing this, to many years offered by same group of amorphous organisms, that had lived in our human body and gradually killing our cells by biting off chunks of intestinal cells until we were almost passing out, when the rescue team came, it would sound nice to describe Alenkhes' administration as “ALUGHAEN”.
Trust me, their followers are also nodding in awe, probably thanking God for Festus Alenkhes' emergence in their private conference over these feats achieved in a short time.
For the teaming believers of Festus Alenkhes' Movement, FAM, they ain't see nothing yet.
It's just the beginning of good stuffs to come, and the earlier they hand-in resignation of their engagements with the other camp, the better for all of us.
They should know, Life is always changing and evolving and this includes everything from the things in our daily lives to our emotions.
All of these things make some commitments hard to keep.
The proof that sticking to your word can be hard is ingrained in our society.
Now that the Fresh Breath is here, in his new year message, Comrade Alenkhe reassured his commitment to make the “New Vision-New Mission” a springboard towards the actualization of his manifesto.
He is soliciting the cooperation, support and prayers of everyone to make the union better than he met it, while wishing, Journalists in the State a bountiful and result oriented new year.
