RE: PURPORTED STRIKE ACTION BY MEMBERS OF THE INSPECTORATE, RANK AND FILE.*

*AIG ZONE 5 BENIN LECTURES/SENSITIZES OFFICERS AND MEN OF THE ZONAL COMMAND AGAINST EMBARKING ON THE PURPORTED STRIKE ACTION.*

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 5 Command Headquarters, Benin, comprising Delta and Edo State Police Commands, AIG Lawan Tanko Jimeta, psc, had an interactive session with the Officers and Men serving at the Zonal Command Headquarters in Benin City.

The AIG charged members of the Inspectorate, Rank and file to shun the rumored strike action by members of the Rank and File on 26th March, 2022. He further encouraged the junior officers to remain committed, dedicated and loyal to the Nigeria Police Force, while exhibiting high level of professionalism and eschewing all acts of mutiny.

Furthermore, the AIG Zone 5 Benin stressed that the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc(+), NPM, fdc, is very much committed to the welfare of the Police and is working assiduously to ensure that salary increment and other allowances approved by the Federal Executive Council is speedily implemented. 

AIG Lawan Tanko Jimeta, psc, also assured the Officers and Men that plans for the adequate distribution of kits, operational equipments and other accoutrements to all personnel, renovation of Barracks and better cooperative facilities to all serving Police Officers have also been concluded.

In view of the above, the AIG hereby urge members of the public, particularly in Delta and Edo States to go about their lawful duties without fear as the Police in Delta and Edo States will continue to discharge their duties as expected, ensuring public safety, protection of lives and property of all citizens of the aforementioned states.
