On May 29th.1999, Nigeria celebrated the return of the country to civil rule in what was termed a democratic system of governance.
Recent events in the country indicate we celebrated rather too soon. A key feature of democratic system is, its people focus Concept. But in reality, the people have since be pushed aside in electioneering and in governance by few powerful individuals empowered by same relegated people.
Politics of personal interest and compensation have divided the people against economic prosperity, National growth & development, quality health services, human capital development, quality education and enthronement of good leadership.
The people have succeeded putting first, personal and party interest above national interest in the scale of preference (Choice).
When a country is poor, the citizens become poor and whatever quantity of the NAIRA you think you have accumulated become worthless because of it's low purchasing power occasioned by hyper inflation as currently experience in the country.
When we are faced with insecurity, better part of what you have accumulated will be used to hire private policemen and bodyguards to protect you because we have failed to do the right thing.
What is the the bane of our problems? Bad leadership is the bane of our problems and we must consciously confront and fight it collectively irrespective of our political association for the enthronement of good leadership.
Nigeria is the most blessed black nation in the world but where is our place in the comity of Nations? We are rated high in poverty, corruption, inflation, bad leadership and rated low in economy, education, Health services, life expectancy, etc.
Life doesn't have value in Nigeria as people now die like chickens on daily basis and the only consolation from the government is: We condemn it.... what does that mean anyways? The value of our NAIRA is becoming worthless just like the ZIMBABWE DOLLAR and we are comfortable.
Without missing words and with the spirit of oneness and patriotism, 2023 should be a year to harmonize political interest to usher in a brand new Government at the center with a president who is people driven, a unifier as we're now divided like never, a healthy leader, strong, intelligent, president who will run Nigeria like a business entity, president with high mental capacity and who is also programmed to think out of box in fixing, rebranding and restarting Nigeria for the betterment of all Nigerians.
