On Friday, 10th June, 2022 at about 0645hrs, a team of Policemen attached to Safer Highway, Edo State Police Command, Benin City, while on Stop and Search duty at Mile 18 along Benin / Lagos Expressway, Edo State intercepted one Gold Coloured Mercedez Benz Saloon car Reg No. Lagos BDG 183 AH and arrested four young men, namely; (1) AILOJIE CHRISTOPHER, age 52 years, (2) IYAMU AISOSA,age 32 years, (3) IDEMUDIA OSATARE, age 26 years, and (4) FRANK JOSEPH, age 25 years, who appeared suspiciously inside the vehicle.
Immediately, search was conducted on their bodies, inside vehicle and one locally made Pistol and its one live Catridge wrapped with polythene bag were recovered from them.
Suspects made statements and confessed to the crimej, stating that the firearm was given to them by one of them, IYAMU AISOSA. They will soon be processed to court for prosecution.
