All hope is bright for the Benin Arsenal, a nickname for the Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin as they are being motivated to endless winnings.
The victories couldn't be historically complete without mentioning the motivating effort of the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Edo State Council, Comrade Festus Alenkhe who has remained resolute in fulfilling the promise he made to the team at the kickoff of this current season.
It would be recalled that Mr Alenkhe did openly promised the Benin Arsenals in their first game at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City that any player to score the first goal for the Insurance side in every match played at home will get a token of twenty thousand naira.
Since that promise was made, the footballers have put their tactics together and there have never been a day a match is played at home where no winner of the cash sum emerge.
The presence of Edo NUJ Chairman, Festus Alenkhe at every home match, keeps motivating the young lads to excellence. History will have it that the promise made by the pen boss, was not made when he was already a Chairman of the NUJ. The promise was made long before his declaration to contest for the chairmanship position which he occupies today.
According to Festus Alenkhe, "this cash sum is my little way of motivating the players to put up their best in every home game and as you can see, they truly motivated.
"There's no match played at home that a winner of the cash prize will not emerge. That is the spirit and that is the style.
"We shall device a means of boosting the cash price and ensure these players are motivated," he said.
