The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja today ruled that the issue of delegates list is a domestic affair of a political party and that the courts cannot decide for the party.
The ruling provides clarity on the issues relating to the delegates list presented to the NWC by the Edo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Court in upholding the appeal of the appellant said; " We cannot go against our earlier judgements in Edo and Kano".
In a nutshell, this ruling validates the ad-hoc delegates election conducted across the 192 wards in the State in April supervised and monitored by the party's NWC.
The Appeal court judgement today therefore reaffirmed Senator Engr Clifford Akhimienmona Ordia as the PDP candidate for Edo Central Senatorial District and Rt.Hon. Marcus Onobun as the PDP candidate for Esan West, Esan Central and Igueben Federal constituency in the 2023 general election.
