The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 5 Headquarters, Benin City, comprising Delta and Edo State Police Commands, *AIG Lawan Tanko Jimeta, psc,* on Tuesday 16th August, 2022 decorated Twelve (12) newly promoted officers with their new ranks of Superintendents of Police at the Zonal Conference hall of Zone 5 Headquarters, Benin City.
2. The ceremony was attended by members of the Zone 5 Management team, Heads of Department, Officers and Men of the Zone, and relations of the promotees.
3. In his address, the AIG Zone 5 Benin thanked God Almighty for their promotion, acknowledging that promotion comes from God. He further appreciated the Inspector-General of Police, *IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc(+), NPM, psc,* for recommending the officers for promotion. The AIG added that promotion comes with added responsibility and charged the promotees to redouble their efforts, be considerate to the people and be professional in the discharge of their constitutional duties.
4. Finally, the AIG congratulated the newly promoted officers and prayed for God’s guidance, protection, good health for them as they continue to serve the nation.
5. Speaking on behalf of the promoted officers, SP Raphael Ediae thanked and appreciated the IGP and the Force Management team for finding them worthy of elevation to a higher rank. He further appreciated the AIG Zone 5 Benin and his management team for finding time to decorate them personally, he said that they were aware of the added responsibility coming with their new ranks and pledged to be committed and professional in the discharge of their duties so as to make the Police proud.
6. The AIG was assisted in the decoration of the Officers by DCP Betty Otimenyin, mnips, (DFA) and DCP Barymill A. Samaila, mnips, (ZDOPS).
