The Omo N' Oba N' Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuere 11, Oba Of Benin Kingdom denigrates the issue of land grabbing that has triggered by the invasion of land grabbers in Ulegun Community in Ikpoba-Okha, Eghor Council Of the State.
The Monarch said this through the Benin Traditional Council issued the receipt warnings while playing host to Nigeria Union Of Journalist, led by it's Chairman, Comrade Festus Alenkhe through Press briefing at Oba Palace in Benin City on the 31st Of August, 2022.
Speaking For the Oba, Chief Henry Obazuaye, the Alwerioghene Of Benin Kingdom stated that the State has been embroiled recently in Land grab activities, hence it's menace need to be addressed.
He says " The practice of land grabbing in Benin City and environs has reached alarming proportions".
He reteriated that " Land grabbers argued that once a structure is hurriedly erected on the illegally acquired property, the palace of the Oba Of Benin Forbids such property to be brought down. This practice must stop".
The Palace commended and encourage the State Government to take strict sanctions for culprits to avoid Crisis that might become endemic in Edo State.
" The Palace regards land grabbing at the rate which it is going as akin to domestic terrorism and kidnapping".
Conclusively, the palace enjoins the public to peacefully resist domestic terrorism in any form.
