The Deputy Governor made the assertion during a mass in celebration of Fr. Obiyan, who also doubles as the Chaplain of Edo Government House Chapel, Benin City.
The celebration of mass which held at St. Francis Catholic Church Ekewan, Benin City, was attended by notable dignitaries like the Deputy Governor's wife, Comrade Mrs. Maryann Philip-Shaibu; former Edo State Deputy Governor, Dr. Pius Odubu;Chief Judge of Edo State, Justice Joe Acha; Permanent Secretary,Edo State Sports Commission, Mrs. Sabina Chikere and many catholic faithful.
Shaibu noted that "the transfer of Rev. Fr. Andrew Obiyan to St. Francis Parish is synonymous with the development of new parishes at a very unsual time; it is marvellous to behold".
He added:"it will become a point of contact for something new to begin to happen in St. Francis Parish. In everything we do, we always put God first and we will continue to support Fr. Obiyan and his new parish whenever the need arises", Shaibu said.
In his homily, titled: "THE SET TIME", taken from the Gospel of Ecclesiastes, chapter 3, Rev. Fr. Andrew Obiyan, noted that time was very crucial in everything we do.
According to him:"whatever purpose and assignment given to you by God must manifest within the set time".
He continued: "time waits for no man to fulfill his purpose. You must maximize your time to discover your purpose in life. Time is very important, as a result of this, we must not despise our time for prayers.".
"If time is past without maximizing its purpose, it becomes irrelevant. You can not do what the time is set to do, at a time, anytime. Pray when you need to pray and play when you need to play".
While appreciating people who had made his ministry a wonderful journey for him, Rev. Fr. Obiyan said: "I thank you for that huge sacrifice and solidarity in the Lord. Together in the service of the Lord, we can make a huge difference".
