...Decries Illegal Tax, Vows To Carry Everybody Together
The younger brother of Chief Osamede Adun, known as; Bob-Izua conglomerate, Julius Iredia Adun, was elected as Chairman Ekewan Zone 1 of the Sawmiller Association in Edo State ,won by a total of 19 votes to beat his rival, Gbami Godspower who scored nine votes to loss the elections.
Speaking to the media after him and other exco members were sworn in, Comrade Iredia Adun said, he is going to do everything possible to work with the State President of Sawmiller in the State to ensure illegal activities are tackle in the trade and it should be stop.
Julius Adun also lamented about the high taxes that are leveled against their members, describing it as unfair in the trade and vowed to put an end to the illegal taxes collecting by some unknown Indigenes of the area.
Amb. Julius Iredia Adun described the process of the election as free, fair and credible because there was no fight, insult, quarry and rancour during the whole excecrise of the poll. He said as he won the race, he is going to carry everybody and his people along to ensure there is peace among them, and in their various businesses as Sawmillers.
When asked by a journalists how the bad road and illegal tax collecting by the governments in the state would be curb, Iredia Adun said:" Ekenwan road is a very critical area, as you said because there are double tax from those in authorities. From some people who called themselves indigenes in the premises, oppressing the Sawmillers Associations. That is why I volunteer that I will be the Chairman of Sawmillers Association in the Zone to make sure we stop the manner and way of these illegal activities .," He lamented.
Given the breakdown and how the Electorial Committee Chairman Sawmillers Association, Edo state, Bishop Sunday Ogbomo said, Iredia Adun won with 19 votes, against the nine votes got by his oppoent.
He added that, the winner of the election is a zonal chairman, that as far that is a zonal polls, we don't interfere because we conduct the elections from the State. We don't intefere in their zonal meetings, it was through the efforts of his good campaign and the love he has for his people that make him to win the election.
" All votes casted were 28 votes. The winner scored 19, while his run off for nine votes.
My take home from what transpired in this election is that like transparency and credibility, and it had been playing out. I started the elections in my State. With the State Chairman Election Committee. I
"I conducted first the State election, as a result of the transparency that played out, and how it was done, the Chairman said I should retained the position and just preside to conduct the rest elections in all zones, in Edo state. We have eight zones in Edo state for now across the 18 local government areas in the state . I am not praising myself, it is what happened.
More so , highlight of the election was the greetings and congratulations to the chairman for his winning spirit by the President of the Sawmillers Associations in Edo state and advised the Comrade Iredia Adun extend hand of peace and love to his supporters and his opponents Mr. God'spower.
