A distress reports from the street has it that a high court judge in Edo state disobeyed a traffic light in NAVIS junction on Mission road and was trailed by officers of the Edo State Traffic Management Agency who apprehended the vehicle.
The distress report is reproduced herein under:
"A Prado jeep (black) with the registration number EE998BEN ran the red light at Navis junction, by mission road.The driver and the owner of the car, one Justice Imadegbelo almost ran an officer down and in the process the side mirror of the vehicle got broken.The judge then mobilised her boys who came immediately with two hilux Van's to assault the EDSTMA officers on ground.
This needs to stop, the State government should please take this up, nobody is bigger than the law. Assaulting officers on duty for doing their job just because you feel you are above the law is barbaric"
The Chief Judge of Edo state should cause investigation into this as it is unexpected from a supposed protector of the law.
A similar case happened sometime ago wherein the wife of a lawmaker in Edo state ran the light and till date, nothing is heard about it.
Do we now operate a lawless society in Edo state.
