An Edo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Assembly aspirant, Mr. Jeffery Osarumwense, has narrowly escaped death following the deadly invasion on his residence by suspected  gunmen  .

The invasion which occured on January 11, 2023 and led to the disappearance of  Jeffrey's family members according to multiple sources was politically motivated.

Speaking with our Correspendent in Benin, a source who never wanted her name in print over fear of being attacked, said , that trouble started when the Edo State House of assembly hopeful indicated interest to contest the forthcoming election.

Our sources maintained that the development never went down well with his political opponent (the All Progressives Congress aspirant), who was allegedly looking for ways to frame Jeffrey up with a view to eliminating him from the race.

The disclosed that the worst occured on January 11, 2023, when the Youth Leader of Ogida-Useh Community , one Amadin Otas allegedly led some armed thugs to  Jeffrey residence at Osarumwense Street, Ogida Quarters in Benin City, where they recked havoc on his properties.

It was scooped that as at the time of the attack, Mr. Jeffery Osarumwense was not at home, leaving his family family (wife and children) and his security guard, one Musa Abdullahi at home alone.

Abdullahi was said to have be beaten and tied up by the weapon-wielding hoodlums before gaining access to the house.

Another source told our Correspendent that angered by not meeting their prime target at home, Jeffery Osarumwense, the hoodlums decided to accused the politician of engaging in homosexuality, an act that is highly condemnable in Nigeria.

They people were said to have been raising their voices, shooting that Jeffrey is into homosexuality, an abominable act in Ogida community, hence, their reasons for invading his residence.

Contacted, the Edo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Chidi  Nwanbuzor, who confirmed the report said that the command has commenced investigation into the the incident.

He disclosed that no arrest has been made in connection with the incident.
