The family of one Osunobuse, has been thrown into mourning and agony following the gruesome killing of their son Mr. Charles Ireneosunobunse and his wife Mrs. Mabel Ireneosunobunse, by suspected political assassins who attacked the victims during their party rally in Okada, Ovia North-East Local Government Area of Edo State.

This is even as the victims' residence in Ogun state was on the same day reportedly burnt down by suspected political hoodlums, as the whereabouts of their children has remain unknown as at the time of filing this report.

It was gathered that Mr and Mrs. Mabel Charles Ireneosunobunse, natives of Ogun state until their unfortunately death on February 1, 2023 in Edo state were strong mobilisers of their political party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the main opposition party in Nigeria.

The brutal killings of the couple according to eyewitnesses is not unconnected the the popularity of the Peoples Democratic Party in Edo and Ogun states, believed to be occasioned by efforts of the deceased couple.

Speaking with our Correspendent, an eyewitness who craved for anonymity over security reasons said that gunmen numbering over seven who drove in with a white Sienna Space Bus invaded their rally ground in Okada.

The suspected hoodlums who the source alleged to be political assassins who upon alighting from their vehicle shot sporadically into the air as they demand for Mr and Mrs Charles Ireneosunobunse, apparently on a mission to elimination them.

"Upon sighting the couple, the gunmen opened fire on them, as they died on the stop while we had to scamper to different locations for safety", the source narrated.

It was further learnt that the couple came to Edo State for the rally of party ahead of the February 25 Presidential and National Assembly elections where they met their untimely death in the hands of the suspected political assassins.

The police authorities in Edo could not be reached at the time of this report, just as the whereabouts of the children of Mr and Mrs. Charles Ireneosunobunse, remain unknown.
