A group under the name, Organisation for Global Youth's Peace, Empowerment and Development Initiative (OGYPEDI) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari and the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr Godwin Emefiele to immediately end the current crunch facing poor Nigerians as a result of Naira Swap Policy.
The group made this call yesterday, Wednesday 1st February, 2023, through its national coordinator, Mr Japhet Omene.
While speaking with news men, Mr Omene said, it is obvious President Buhari and the Governor of CBN are not sensitive to the plights of Nigerians who have been suffering from insecurity, unemployment, power failure and hunger.
Mr Omene said this current cash crunch orchestrated by the Naira Redesign Policy, introduced by Emefiele is like adding salt to injury.
"No doubt it was one of the reasons Nigerians were angry with APC in the just concluded Presidential election even though the reasons given for it were to checkmate vote buying and others during the election.
"It is glaring the aim was not achieved as politicians still have their way.
So enough of it; it will be better to just end the cash crunch now so the pain of Nigerians will reduce if not drastically eradicated.
