Abuja,May 8, 2023 National Co-ordinator, Conflict Solutions Advocacy,a Civil Society Organisation, Hon.Osaro Onaiwo jnr. has called on policy makers to prioritize
Nationalism, Charisma, Track record and Consistency in selecting Speaker of the 10th Assembly,
Onaiwo, said this during a Media briefing with journalists in Abuja,stating that the people should come first before tribe , language and societal class.
"There is an election to nominate the speaker of the House in Nigeria, this shouldn't be a conversation for only the law makers, the everyday man and woman, the community based Organization, Civil Society Organizations, should examine those who are in to run the race.
"Bad leadership is the makings of insecurity and terrorism, the insecurity and terrorism index for the last decade has been very high, we have seen a little decline which is an improvement but daily Nigerians are emigrating for greener pastures.
He said" This should be a matter of huge concern to those that the leadership mantel rest on their shoulders,experience and improvement is a win win for me any day.
"The people should come first not your tribe, your language, your friends but the Nigerian people.
However, my examination glasses fell of Hon Muktar Aliyu because his leadership style will be nationalistic in nature.
"The region and constituency he represents has seen a huge blow out of socio-economic and political issues not forgetting religion.
The North East had been a ravaging ground for extremism but due to his leadership qualities, we can see a massive turn around and massive improvement in the development of the people of his constituency."Borno and Nigeria.
He stated that our nation has many socio-economic and political issues, from unrest and killing in major zones across the nation to the issues of "Japa syndrome".
"I believe the template used in Borno should be replicated in the National assembly, who else but someone from that zone should be fit to wear the crown." he added
