Less than 24 hours, reigning champions of the Nigeria Women Football League NWFL premiership, Edo Queens FC of Benin will Wednesday May 29th 2024, at the Awka Township Stadium Anambra state, renew their domestic rivalry against a top-flight side Rivers Angels FC of Port Harcourt in the round of 16 game of the President Federation Cup title hunt.
The newly crowned champions of the NWFL Super six for 2023/24 season will be going into tomorrow' s encounter with vigor, force and determination being that both teams have been long time rivals in the annals of Nigeria Women Football League NWFL since inception.
Edo Queens and Rivers Angels have met severally in competitive football. There has been a long running football battle of Supremacy between both teams. These two NWFL giants took part in the just concluded NWFL Super six, but at the end the Red-hot ladies from Benin City were crowned champions.
This is another opportunity for Women Football giants in the land to prove themselves. The President Federation Cup is the oldest football fiesta in Nigeria.
