Ikpoba-Okha on victory path, as the Ighiwiyisi-led campaign council rakes in popular support for Asue-Ogie, ahead September

All is looking rosy for PDP/Asue-Ogie in Ikpoba-Okha local government area, as men, women and youths continue to identify with the biggest political movement in Edo State—the Asue-Ogie movement; the Pst. Blessed Ighiwiyisi-led campaign council has continued to harvest people from all walks of life, declaring unwavering support and solidarity for Asue-Ogie ahead the all-important September poll in Edo State. 


On Wednesday, the campaign council, in its continuous Ward-to-Ward tour, visited Ward 5, meeting a body of Christians, conveyed by Bishop Osadolor Ochei; the Christians drawn from different denominations listened with rapt attention as the Ikpoba-Okha local government Chairman, Dr. Eric Osayande, highlighted his works in the Ward. 


"I graded more than twenty roads in this Ward, I have also done market money across markets in the Ward, the ever-busy St. Saviour road, cutting across about five communities, including Umelu, Avbiama, Obah, Obazagbon to Idogbo, done by the Governor deserves huge commendation", Chairman noted. 


"This is is the first time we will be having a candidate from Ikpoba-Okha, we must all rally round to support the ticket, for accelerated development of our communities", he urged. 


The Ikpoba-Okha local government Chairman, assure the Church that whatever has not been done by way of infrastructure and other human-capacity development, will be done in the Asue-Ogie administration, Osayande sued for popular support, with assurances from the Church to rally for PDP/Asue-Ogie.


Bishop Ochei commended the Council Chairman, noting that his works are a template for successful administration of local government; Ochei charged the Chairman to continue his good works in Ikpoba-Okha. 


Thereafter, the train moved to a waiting crowd in Avbiama community; the meeting in Avbiama community which held in the community's town hall was one of reassurance and a strong promise to rally for Asue-Ogie. 


Elders, women and youths of Avbiama said the community has decided to mobilize for the PDP/AiO² noting that the PDP remains a homegrown Party that understands and addresses the yearnings and aspirations of Nigerians; they hailed Osayande for his works in Avbiama, particularly the constructed classroom block and supply of furniture in the Community's primary school. 


"PDP is our own, Osarodion Ogie is our son, before your arrival, we already decided it will be PDP, and that we will ensure becomes reality this September; we are happy for the things you have done in this community, and we assure you of our overwhelming support for PDP/Asue-Ogie in this election", Avbiama assured. 


Osayande promised to fence the primary school and also construct a borehole to tackle the water deficit in Avbiama; a heartwarming reassurance from the good people of Avbiama sets the tone for victory ahead September. 


From Avbiama, the train moved to address hundreds of St. Saviour junction market women who delivered melodious songs of praise for the Ikpoba-Okha local government Chairman and the rest of the campaign council; majority of the women who are beneficiaries of the Osayande market money notes that the Chairman's market money programme has impacted their trade significantly; they sang and danced in joy and promised to troop out in large number for the PDP candidates, September. 


Fliers and other campaign materials, including umbrellas, aprons and beautifully designed Asue-Ogie face caps were distributed to market women, residents and passersby around the St. Saviour junction and adjoining streets, with heartwarming reassurances and responses from the good people of Ikpoba-Okha. 


A former Chairman of Ikpoba-Okha Local Government, Chief Douglas Usoh, joined the campaign train, giving his address to members of the Church and Avbiama community. 


Chairman, PDP, Ikpoba-Okha, Mr. Friday Aiwumuagbonrie, commended the Church for their support, and asked that the September election is an important one and the Church should be seen in the front driving the exercise to victory this September; a former Member of the Edo State House of Assembly, Ikpoba-Okha Constituency, Hon. Henry Okhuarobo, thanked the Church and the good people of Avbiama community for their overwhelming support over the years and asked for greater support this September. 


Prayers were said with assurances of support from the Church, Avbiama community and the market women association in St. Saviour. 


Vice Chairman, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government, Hon. Osamuyi Idehen, Vice Chairman, PDP, Ikpoba-Okha, Pst. Paul Osazuwa, Speaker of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Kingsley Balogban, Secretary to Local Government, Barr. Osagie Igbinomwanhia, the Ward 5 Councilor, Hon. Martins Oshodin, woman leader, Mrs. Florence Edobor alongside other women leaders, the Ward 5 executive and other members of the campaign council were amongst persons present at the Wednesday visit to Ward 5.


And as Wards 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 prepares to receive the campaign train in the coming days, supporters across the board continue to identify with the PDP/Asue-Ogie movement, commending the Party for throwing up quality candidates for the all-important poll.
