_...18 validly elected Chairmen intact, fully in PDP_
Okpebholo's desperation to decieve the public and appear to be popular in Edo is no doubt sucking the State's scarce financial resources as the governor has resorted to reckless spending of tax payers monies on monetized defections, while critical infrastructure of the State—health, education, security, etc, suffers.
Yesterday's defection of 17 "illegal acting Chairmen"/impostors, now being reported by Okpebholo's men as elected Chairmen, only seeks to deceive the public and appear to be popular in the eye of the people; an effort in futility that has brought no good but drain and waste to Edo's financial resources.
The 17 impostors, bought with ₦2Million each, having illegally occupied Edo Councils under Okpebholo's watch, moved formally to the APC yesterday.
Meanwhile, constitutionally-elected Chairmen, all of whom are of the PDP extraction, remains in the PDP and do not have any plans to move; the attack on constitutional democracy and local government autonomy by the Okpebholo-led administration would remain his major achievement since assuming office November last year.
For a governor, four months in office, unpopular amongst Edo people, struggling to legitimize his own governorship in court, with no significant achievement four months on, boasting to use impostors to deliver his State for his Party in 2027, shows of his high moral and administrative deficit and the joke that now run the affairs in Edo State; Okpebholo should be more concerned about his own survival, considering the very controversial and disputed means through which he emerged, his chances of survival remains slim, guaranteeing him no place in Osadebey Avenue pre-2027.
Under Okpebholo, Edo has taken a far back seat in developmental discourse, with massive drop in revenue, uncertain policies, high insecurity, and a dysfunctional local government, the future of the State remains bleak, unsure and clearly uncertain; the same fate that stares at local government administration across the 18 Councils as they are now recklessly overrun by impostors, posing as Chairmen on the governor's watch.
And as we continue to navigate the legal infrastructure to right the wrongs in Edo, let it be on record that the men clouded in white and red caps have never been elected as Council Chairmen, they are impostors with a badge of illegal acting Chairmen hanging majestically on their necks, having been recklessly and lawlessly imposed across Councils in Edo, formally joined the APC yesterday with a defection fee of ₦2Million each.
Yesterday's exercise was a monetized movement of 17 impostors to the APC; meanwhile, 18 constitutionally-elected local government Chairmen in Edo are intact and remains fully with the PDP, alongside their teeming supporters.
